Back in September, we had the pleasure of delivering this specially equipped Knapen NEXT K200 sliding-floor trailer to Hirter & Tschanz AG in Safenwil. The company specializes in processing wood chips and transports them using its own fleet of vehicles. Consequently, a large loading capacity, a reliable unloading system, and high maneuverability are essential – especially when dealing with narrow access roads and limited space.
Newest Vehicle in the Fleet
As the latest addition to the fleet, the Hirter & Tschanz team has opted for a Knapen push-floor trailer, delivered by Calag. The new Knapen NEXT K200 offers a loading volume of approximately 73.6 m³, a hydraulically operated tailgate with an opening angle of 115 degrees, and an automatically retracting, hydraulically driven partition. To make covering the wood chips easy, the trailer is equipped with a Knapen Powersheet featuring an automatic roll-up tarp.
Precise Maneuvering
The trailer is particularly maneuverable thanks to its steered second and third axles. This allows the K200 to be maneuvered precisely even in tight spaces. The first axle is also designed as a lift axle with a roll-up assist.
The new K200 also showcases the wide range of possibilities Knapen offers us when it comes to vehicle configuration. Thanks to a wide selection of options, these high-quality sliding-floor trailers can be tailored specifically to the intended use and the requirements of each customer.
